Fundamental Education

If you were to ask anyone who is a member of the Zephaniah Movement their reason for attending our church, you would get a myriad of reasons. Some of these reasons may be unique to a particular person but a great number would tell you that here at this church they are hearing the Word of God like never before. This is not due to some cool, new process that is formulated at The Zephaniah Movement. It is because every sermon given, every leader standing, and every word said is Holy Spirit led. We take to heart our mission as children of God being led by Him, through our Savior Jesus Christ and with the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not take reward for the words that come out of our mouths, only responsibility for the great honor it is to be used by God. While under God’s mandate we have a wonderful leader, ArchBishop Annette Jenkins, we also work to make sure everyone is able to experience God for themselves.

Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding.” It’s not enough for just one person to have knowledge of God, we all must take responsibility to learn and grow in God.

Since 2019 we have had the Zephaniah College of Theology and Biblical Studies. The Zephaniah Movement is taking steps to ensure that our ministry leaders are growing to be Holy Spirit-filled vessels of this world. our church members also have the opportunity to with this program to grow deeper in the Lord.Upon completion, our students have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Theology and Biblical Studies. Bishop Juanita Parks was the original professor who taught all studies in this accelerated program. It is now spearheaded by Professor Alexis Jenkins. Professor Jenkins is oversees the Christian education department and head professor in the college. For her this is a new experience and she didn’t expect to be teaching in the program. As she went through the program with Professor Parks the Lord began to place teaching the program on her heart. The retirement of Professor Parks, and the calling of the Lord ushered in a new duty for Professor Jenkins.

The thought of taking on this role does come with its challenges but Professor Jenkins understood that if the Lord placed it on her heart then He will do the rest. Being able to rightfully divide the word of God is a skill only for those filled with the Holy Spirit. Knowing that, she has been able to thrive in her work. God called her to it and He will be faithful to bring her through it. (1 THES 5:24) What has been worth it for her is getting to read their papers and listen to the discussions on the lessons they have learned.

Let’s take a moment to think about how much could we blossom in God if we were watered and nurtured correctly with His word? So many of our brothers and sisters across the world have been silenced, hurt, and even killed due to evil people using the Lord’s words falsely. While we can’t stop every ill intention, we aim to continue to learn and spread the word of God’s goodness. Professor Jenkins has her heart set on being especially intentional with the curriculum. You can come with the assurance that you are being taught the truth. With the Zephaniah Movement, you have peace coming into it, knowing that it is Holy Spirit driven material. As dean of the college, ArchBishop Annette Y. Jenkins, takes her time combing through materials and each course, making sure what we are teaching is beneficial to the christian walk of each individual. It is theologically sound doctrine material that will have you preaching the word of God the right way.

This course work is geared towards our Zephaniah Movement members who want a deeper understanding of God's Word and those who are becoming ministers in the Zephaniah Movement. Professor Jenkins’ own experience with the program had surprised even herself, “The depth I reached in God surprised me with its vastness. No matter what path you are traveling on, greater knowledge of God is always beneficial.” The Zephaniah Movement values wisdom and knowledge in God and we look forward to all the endeavors the Biblical college explores.

The classes in this program include: What the Bible Teaches, The Last Reformation, Second Work of Grace, How We Got Our Bible, Moral Law, Divine Healing, and Jesus is Coming.

Dear reader, we would like to leave you with a prayer:

Heavenly Father God, we thank you so much for the opportunity to learn about you. We thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit and look forward to the work you will do in us. Now Lord, we ask that you put a thirst for Godly knowledge into our ready today and get them in the mindset to want to learn even more about you. You are a mighty God whose depths are endless and we are excited at the opportunity to gain more understanding about You and your work. Continue to keep us excited in this work, Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen!
