Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, The Lord, The creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
-Isaiah 40:28
Take a moment to pause and just take a few deep breaths. Now, consider the heaviest matters on your mind currently. You may be wondering “How will I handle this?” or “Who will take care of that?” Right now, the government is shut down and every day there seems to be a new moment that will go down in history as a wild or unprecedented event. It can be so overwhelming to take all of this in. But for the children of God….Have you not known? Have you not heard? This scripture from Isaiah 40 can bring a moment of clarity to the darkness that tries to consume us with worries. For the children of God, what worries could be bigger than our God? Spoiler Alert: There are none. We’ve read the Bible, we know what God is capable of, so we can’t let the fear of the world take us over.

”His understanding is unsearchable” is not just a random fact about God. It is a call to remembrance: we cannot fathom the thoughts He has on us or the plans He has in place. God has not forgotten you and He does have a plan for you. Do not allow what you see online or on the news to put fear in your heart. The enemy would love nothing more than for fear to take over and cause you to lose focus of what you know to be true in your heart. This is where our faith and belief in Him should take over. This is also where you find out if you even have enough faith and belief to trust God. In these last days, as it gets tougher, we urge each and every one of our brothers and sisters, make sure your belief and faith is firmly planted. It is becoming clearer that we are in the end times because we clearly see the 2 Timothy 3 men who are lovers of self, people who are unholy, unloving, without self control, and haughty. As you see these things around you happening, is it making you nervous, uneasy, or weak?
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might
He increases their strength.
-Isaiah 40:29
God gives power to the weak. These are unprecedented times for a lot of people and weakness can look a few different ways. Weakness could look like insecurity of what to do, fear of losing a job, benefits, finances, etc. Weakness could even mean you’re hiding and ignoring the world around you. Esther tried to be small and sit back. However, the children of God still have work to do in these last days. Mordecai reminded Esther that maybe she had come to her position for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14) It is the same for you, dear reader, there are no mistakes: you are in this world for such a time as this. We still have brothers and sisters who are lost in the world. The church is still a hospital and we still have work to do. Strength given to us by God is to be used for the kingdom of God.
You know, we started to leave the previous paragraph as an ending statement for this reading. However, the Holy Spirit has pressed upon us the seriousness and urgency in which we must take on knowing and believing in God and His attributes. Do not think that just because you have professed Christianity and live holy that satan is not still vying for your soul. He would love nothing more than to get you to lose hope in God. In these last days God is shining a light in the darkness and revealing all things. In this revealing, the people and things that profess to be of God will be found out as false. So where does your faith lie? In these people, in these places, in these things? Whatever noun you have found solace in will be turned upside down by the power of God. So we pray today, dear reader, that our faith, our hope, and our belief may be found in God. The enemy only needs a moment of doubt to distract you. Look at Lot’s wife. (Genesis 19) Look at Peter's feet on the water. (Matthew 14:22-33) Look at Israel with their blasphemous calf. (Exodus 32:1-4) All of it ushered in by doubt! In these last days, we have to stop getting tripped up by the tricks of the enemy and focus on God and his unsearchable thoughts. Saints, let us walk deeply and powerfully in the full knowledge of God. Amen? Amen.
Dear Reader, we would like to leave you with a prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a blessing it is to have You! We give honor and glory to Your Holy name. My God, there is no love more precious than Yours. We glorify the one and only true living God and give You glory for the strength You have given Your children. Father, we ask that You increase the strength to anyone who may be weary and fortify their walk in You. Pour Your Spirit on Your workers and allow us to walk in confidence in what we must do, in our faith in You, and belief that You will do what You said You will do. We ask that you give us the mindset to not fall into the lies and tricks of the enemy. We thank You again for Your glory. In Jesus name. Amen
